Planning Granted!

House-Architecture is pleased to confirm that Planning Approval has been granted by West Suffolk Council for a new house in the village of Ousden, outside Newmarket. We will proceed with the next stages of the design leading up to and beyond an application for Building Regulation Approval.

The house’s rather low profile and respectful external appearance belies the environmental technology within, including an air source heat pump, biomass boiler and solar thermal tubes. The intention is to significantly reduce energy consumption (and bills) through investment in these forward looking technologies.

Construction will involve the formation of a retaining wall, to the side of the future living space, which will then be filled against forming a semi-basement with ground level access above it. This makes the ground floor the upper floor and will be reached by a new bridge from the entrance route, leading into a study and studio space.

A stair descends from this space to living accommodation below including a kitchen dining and living room as well as two bedrooms, one of which has an independent access, making it a great guest suite.
